The Diablo Symphony, joined by
chamber singers, brings music of the holiday season in a special concert in
the El Campanil Theatre in Antioch on Sunday, Dec. 14.
The “Holiday Moods” program, including Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,”
will begin at 3 p.m.
The symphony, now in its 46th year as the oldest group of professionally
trained musicians in Contra Costa County, will be joined by the acclaimed
chorus and chamber singers from Liberty High School in Brentwood.
Under the direction of Susan Stuart, the singers will perform selections
from “Hodie” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Joyce Johnson Hamilton will conduct the symphony in the concert suite from
the popular movie “The Polar Express,” Leroy Anderson’s familiar “Sleighride,”
and traditional carols.
