El Campanil Childrens Theatre

El Campanil Children’s Theatre has very own logo!

After many long weeks of decision-making, a drawing has finally been selected to be the logo for the Children’s Theatre of El Campanil. The logo contest began in the summer and was open to actors who’d performed in a play at El Campanil Theatre this past year and also to children who attended summer drama camp. Drawings were presented to Rick Carraher, El Campanil Theater Manager, and Deanna Greensides, El Campanil Box Office Manager, who then narrowed it down to three finalists. The three final drawings were submitted by Jessica Costello, Antioch; Jenni Lopez, Antioch; and Marni Parsons, Brentwood. From there, the three selections were sent to graphic designer Suzanne Wolfe of Wolfe Graphix, Lafayette, who then had the job of taking the concept of each drawing, giving it a graphic quality that would be eye-catching, functional and be able to illustrate the aspect of children's theatre.

After considering all the drawings, including the final three which had been selected, Suzanne focused on color, design, clean lines, balance, proportion, relevance to youth theater, and ultimately what would display best on T-shirts, ball caps, backpacks, lunch bags, programs, announcements, etc. The winner of the logo design contest is Mrs. Marni Parsons of Brentwood. Marni has been involved with children’s theater for the past three years serving as stage manager, and acted for the first time in El Campanil Children's Theatre’s production of “Wagon Wheels A’Rollin.”  Congratulations, Marni!

Eight drawings were entered in the contest. Entries were submitted by Tahlia Agjily, Jessica Costello, Cheryl Jessup, Jenni Lopez, Rachel Leonard, Mark Parsons, Marni Parsons, and Jason Pitak, We congratulate each of them for their creativeness and participation in the logo contest.

T-shirts, ball caps, and other items will be displayed on Sunday, October 12th, at the matinee performance of Stone in The Road and The Three Bully Goats Griff. Orders for merchandise will be taken that day.
